Hodage is a non profit organization created in France in June 2005 (Association law 1901) with a Palestinian office in Gaza (The Interior’s Ministry of Palestinian Authority gave a permission on June 25th, 2006).
The Association use to organize concerts in Europe and in Gaza Strip to promote the Modern, Classical and Traditional Arabic Music. For 2 years, Hodage has two principal partners: the French Cultural Center of Gaza and the Circus Cahin-Caha in Marseille (France). The own financial resource is the diffusion of concerts. The budget for 2006 was 10 000 Euros.

Mission and Objectives: 

The first mission is to develop musical projects in Gaza Strip which totally stopped with the last Intifada of 2000.
The second mission is to help Palestinian musicians of Gaza to study and play outside.
The third mission is to continuous dialogue between cultures even any political situation and closing of borders.
The fourth mission is to help the musical transmission for the youth.

Main Projects / Activities: 

1-« Modern Sufi Songs » is a modern musical creation of the singer/composer Moneim Adwan with Palestinian, Irakian, Syrian Sufi Songs. It s a mixed between these classical poetry/songs and the new technologies of Music (Bass Program) about the prophet Mohamed.
2-“P.I.F.” is a series of musical-circus residence between Palestinian, Israeli and French Artists about the possibilities of dialogue, communication, art.
3-Diffusion of “Nawah”: Sephardic and Palestinian Songs (Francoise Atlan, Moneim Adwan) and ‘Popular and Sacred Songs of Palestine’ (Moneim Adwan).
