Details

Committed to working alongside the most destitute, the Foundation endeavors to institutionalize social action, building on an inclusive vision conducive to change and progress.

Spearheaded by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, social action for the benefit of the poor took deeper root in Moroccan society with the creation of the Foundation in 1999. The purpose of this institution is to undertake large-scale action against poverty and social inequalities by rallying individuals and community-based forces within a Moroccan social pact. This pact is underpinned by the fundamental values of mutual aid, generosity and solidarity, which constitute the bedrock of Moroccan culture.

"Ready to help the needy." With this promise, and thanks to public generosity, the Foundation organizes collective solidarity through social programs. Based on a coordinated approach involving other social actors as well as public authorities, these programs are aimed at serving the public. They make it possible to deliver effective, lasting solutions for a better socio-economic integration of vulnerable populations.

As a result, the Foundation’s programs cover a broad field of intervention including specific actions related to humanitarian assistance (in Morocco and abroad), as well as sectors such as education, health, employment and financial autonomy, all of which are levers for social progress.

A commitment focused on people

The Foundation is committed to helping all those who are marginalized and in need. Its action is therefore centered on combating poverty and all forms of precariousness. More specifically, it contributes to improving access to basic services for people living in rural and semi-urban areas. The Foundation also provides humanitarian assistance in emergency situations.

The Foundation seeks to protect people living in a precarious situation (abandoned children, orphans, single women, elderly people). It supports young people by providing them with skills to build a better future. It promotes equal opportunity for people with disabilities by helping with socio-educational care and employment. The Foundation creates conditions conducive to better economic integration of the poor (women, people with disabilities and young people).

To this end, it provides them with appropriate means of support (specific tools, multidimensional support and innovative mechanisms) aimed at empowering individuals. Thus, the Foundation encourages these people to achieve their own socio-professional integration. Its mission consists in serving the poor effectively so that everyone may find their place in society and be a part of change.

The Foundation's priority is to intervene where the need is most pressing, where it is insufficiently addressed

A catalyst of social action

A true driver of social action, the Foundation intervenes principally where needs are most pressing, and where they are not adequately addressed. It acts in a spirit of mutual reinforcement, supplementing the actions of other public and private actors, particularly civil society organizations. Indeed, fighting poverty requires the rallying of stake holders committed to acting in the public interest.

The Foundation believes that social action is part of a collective endeavor. Hence, it involves target populations in needs assessments and federates local social actors, involving them in the implementation of actions and projects. It serves as a link between donors and beneficiaries. It constantly seeks to adequately match projects with needs and to build bridges between institutional actors and civil society. In so doing, it contributes to enhancing social cohesion.
