The Egyptian Feminist Union is a non-profit, non-governmental organization composed of women and feminist NGOs aiming to strengthen the role of women in participating in shaping the transition to democracy in Egypt on basis of gender equality and equal citizenship. Women’s and feminist NGOs working with the cooperation of other stakeholders such workers’ unions and syndicates, universities, the media…etc to build an aware society of the importance of empowering women to achieve equal citizenship in building democratic Egypt and influencing national policies and legislations to achieve gender equality.

The overall goal of establishing the Egyptian Feminist Union is to ensure the participation of Egyptian women in building democratic Egypt by creating awareness among masses and communities and influencing policy-makers towards empowering women, providing them with equal opportunities and facilitating their participation in public life
