Caritas was established in Algeria on 28 June 1962, a few days before the proclamation of independence.

Caritas Algeria is currently the humanitarian service of the ADA, the association of the Catholic Church in Algeria.
As an executive body, it is open to the cooperation and assistance of all, whatever their origin, identity or religion, provided they share the common goal and values.

Our Goal : Solidarity
The primary aim of Caritas Algeria is the development of solidarity, starting from the most disadvantaged situations. The values ​​that Caritas proposes are justice and peace,
mutual respect and solidarity, attention to the welfare of others and the environment.

Our Initiatives
Initiatives in favor of the physically or mentally handicapped, women or disadvantaged children, have been undertaken by Caritas Algeria in the country for a long time.
In conjunction with the Confederation of Caritas and other organizations at the international level, Caritas has been implementing programs to help victims of natural disasters,
floods and earthquakes.

Our Way
Caritas support to youth organizations in the neighborhoods, or girls's associations in the villages to promote local crafts, as well as additional training programs to kindergarten
teachers are well known and appreciated. Caritas Algeria is also interested in the fate of migrants crossing the country from sub-Saharan Africa, in collaboration with UNHCR or other organizations.
