Mission statement
The Popular Art Centre is a Palestinian cultural NGO whose objective is to disseminate creative arts and culture to various sectors of Palestinian society to preserve and maintain cultural heritage, protect the national identity, and upgrade levels of creativity in form and content - through exchanging experiences, sponsoring talent and skills, and enhancing community-based organizations.
Objectives
To foster appreciation for various forms of arts and culture in Palestinian society.
To promote human and cultural interaction between Palestinians, Arabs and the International community.
To promote the production of cultural, national, intellectual and human knowledge and resources in the arts.
To provide the Palestinian public with opportunities to appreciate and engage with professionally produced creative environment mediums.
To foster cultural environments and potentials that contribute to the creative production of artists and arts groups.
To promote the dissemination of creative and cultural mediums.
The Popular Art Centre (PAC) is a Palestinian Non Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 1987 to promote a vibrant and dynamic culture and art sectors in Palestine. PAC seeks to create a cultural environment that facilitates the building of a stronger connection between Palestinians and arts and culture. It has also consolidated the role of the citizen by structuring the national and artistic character of dance and musical groups in Palestine.
PAC has through the years disseminated a culture through various local and international festivals as well as arts events. Moreover, it has organized training courses in the fields of dance and especially the popular dance; “Dabkeh”, as vehicle for dialogue and positive change. Furthermore, the PAC has implemented many educational and cultural projects and programs targeting various sectors of society, especially children and youth.
PAC has, over three decades, achieved success in consolidating community awareness and interest in arts and culture. Its activities have also expanded to include more areas, cities, villages and refugee camps in Palestine.
