The Stopdesert association was born from an experience of "Young Ticino" in February 2001 in Burkina Faso, engaged in a remediation project of 500 hectares of dry land, in which was used the VS ( http: // www .vallerani.com / ). The agricultural engineer Venanzio Vallerani, its creator, in the light of the success of the expedition, advocated the idea of founding an association that would continue the disclosure of his invention through new projects.

Simone Andreetta, after the experience, he founded the Stopdesert Association, which has what purpose, halt the advance of desertification. In 2009, it is the "Team" of the association projects, made by Ing. Rocco Pacciorini agronomist and biologist Manuela Varini. During the month of July 2010 the latter, along with the chemical Moses Turf, they went in the north of Senegal and have realized the first project of the association. In particular it is reforested an area of ​​200 hectares.

On 18 October 2010, the Stopdesert Association, is recognized by the law of the Canton Ticino (Switzerland), as a public utility association.
