As an independent Palestinian organization, Sharek Youth Forum seeks to contribute to the development of youth through designing, supporting, and implementing youth initiatives, programmes and projects in Palestine. The organization strives to get the voice of youth heard, and acts as a platform for advocacy on social, economic, cultural and political youth issues.
Sharek Youth Forum is an organization that promotes the dynamic development of youth through a plethora of innovative and vibrant methods and activities. Sharek now coordinates 20 centres 15 in the West Bank and 5 centres in the Gaza Strip for the use of Palestinian youth, providing the space for youth to meet and work together on diverse projects throughout Palestine. Utilising a dense network of hundreds of volunteer youth located throughout the Palestinian territories, Sharek makes use of such expertise to contribute to the creative development of youth whilst simultaneously building capacity of its volunteers. Sharek’s activities include training activities, youth events, work with children, and a newly established legal unit at Sharek will bring its activities to the next phase, ensuring that the rights of young people are complied with and lobbied at legislative level, whilst developing acute political awareness and democratic principles among Palestine’s youth. Sharek acts as the voice of Palestinian youth!
