Charity, humanitarian work and service to the community are perhaps the noblest acts of kindness that individuals in the Arab World can embark upon. To pursue these acts, one has to be dedicated, persistent and absolutely willing to overcome the many challenges that accompany this kind of activity. In this regard, fruitful and constructive unity among members of a society will lead to successful and gratifying results.

The "Hayatt" Association epitomizes such noble service to the community. Hayatt was founded by an insightful grandmother who was touched by her grandson's short life to positively impact and serve underprivileged persons who have been afflicted by cancer. Importantly, this grand lady wanted to give them hope and to enlighten their life.
As non-profit organization, our employees graciously and voluntarily give their time and efforts to fulfill our mission to serve these people.

The concept of "Hayatt" dates back to 2003 when its founder Mrs. Ruqayah Abdulwahab Alqatami (Oum Qais Abdullah Thaunayyn Alghanim) was already involved in charitable work for several years providing medicine and other assistance to patients.

After living through the ordeal of witnessing her own grandson receiving his cancer treatment outside his home country, Oum Qais decided to make a difference to the lives of expatriates with cancer living in Kuwait. Her family, relatives and friends joined her mission in convincing her that she could make a true difference with her humanitarian work.

The Hayatt Association is composed of a group of concerned volunteer women dedicated to serving their community and alleviating the suffering caused by this disease.
Hayatt was founded to be part of the "Ruqayah Abdulwahab Alqatami Charity Foundation" and was officially recognized by the Ministry of Social Affairs in 2008.

Since Ramadan September 2007, through our determination and in the relatively short period that our foundation, formerly known as "Hayat4Cancer"was set up, we sponsored the treatment of hundreds of patients from 26 different nationalities (Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Soudan, Yemen, Bulgaria, Canada, Iran, Lebanon, India, Morocco, Philippines, Sri-Lanka, Iraq, Bangladesh, United States of America, China, Australia, Russia , Nepal and non- Kuwaitis (Bedouns) with various cancers including breast cancer, lymphoma, colon cancer, leukemia, multiple myeloma, stomach cancer, kidney cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer and brain cancer at a cost of millions of Kuwaiti Dinars.

Due the heavy burden that breast cancer places on the community and the commitment required, the association decided in 2012 to focus on reducing the heavy financial and emotional burden caused by breast cancer on the suffers. The Association decided to restrict its activities to deal only with breast cancer and colon cancer (the second most common malignancy in Kuwaiti women and the first most frequent malignancy in Kuwaiti men) through "Hayatt, Ruqayah Abdulwahab Alqatami Breast Cancer Foundation".
