Ma'an Network is a non-profit media organization founded in 2004 to strengthen independent Palestinian media, build links between local, regional and international media, and consolidate freedom of expression and media pluralism as keys to promoting democracy and human rights in Palestine.

Ma'an, which means “together” in Arabic, is based in Bethlehem and works in partnership with independent journalists throughout Palestine, including eight local television stations and ten local radio stations. Guided by the Ma'an Board of Directors and General Assembly, our activities include television, video, and radio production, an online news agency covering events in Palestine around the clock, and training courses for Palestinian journalists and media personnel.

We are committed to empowering Palestinians by providing independent news and information, producing programs that promote public debate and allow citizens to question decision-makers, and bringing Palestinian voices to global audiences.

Launched in 2005, Ma'an News Agency and publishes up-to-the-minute professional news reports in Arabic, English and Hebrew, and is among the most browsed websites in the Palestinian territories, with approximately 4 million visits per month.

Ma'an Network has become an important source for quality Palestinian television and radio programming which encourages citizens to envision different possibilities and become active participants in public affairs. We produce TV and radio talk shows where government officials and leading experts discuss public policy, serial dramas that combine entertainment with important messages, investigative reports on critical social, economic, and political issues, and documentaries exploring Palestinian history and culture.

Ma'an is committed to building the capacity of Palestinian media, and regularly organizes workshops and training courses so that local media professionals can develop their technical and journalistic skills. Our trainings aim to enable Palestinian journalists to better meet the public’s daily news and information needs, and at a wider level, to raise media standards and increase the independence and professionalism of Palestinian outlets.

Looking to the future, Ma'an seeks to lead the way in developing Palestinian media into a force for positive social change, accountability, and democracy in Palestine. We look forward to serving the Palestinian people for many years to come.
