The peaceful 2005 demonstrations proved that the majority of Lebanese citizens want to live in a stable, pluralistic democracy, free from radicalism and foreign intervention.

The Lebanon Renaissance Foundation, Inc. ("the Foundation") is an independent, non-governmental and non-sectarian educational organization whose founders were involved through their own professional activities in advancing the practice of non-violence and democratic activism. The Foundation strongly believes that the private sector and the Diaspora are uniquely positioned to assist in Lebanon's national rebuilding process.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Lebanon Renaissance Foundation is working toward ensuring that Lebanon progresses into a free, democratic and open society, fully integrated into the global economy, while providing people with choices for their ways of life under the rule of law.

OBJECTIVES

Raise awareness of the importance of ensuring Lebanon is not overwhelmed by regional conflicts to secure its role in anchoring peace and tolerance in the Middle East.

Educate the public and a new generation of Lebanese and American leaders about the importance of a free, independent, peaceful and democratic Lebanon for the country's security, stability and development.

Promote educational initiatives aimed at strengthening a culture of dialogue, transparency, and meritocracy in Lebanon. This includes identifying deficiencies and educating stakeholders and the public about the importance of addressing shortcomings within public institutions which should stand as the cornerstone of a capable Lebanese State.

Encourage private sector and Diaspora involvement in the national rebuilding process.

Enlist public support for the Foundation's objectives while building relationships with international institutions that share these objectives.
