The Lebanese Welfare Association for the Handicapped (LWAH) is non-governmental organization founded in 1984, and has special consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council since the year 2000. LWAH has now over 39,000 registered patients.
LWAH has started providing social services for those in need through its head offices in Beirut.
However, in order to maximize the accessibility of its services, other centres were established in different areas of Lebanon.

LWAH's major centre, is Nabih Berri Rehabilitation Compound (NBRC), which was once a dream, has now become one of the biggest most sophisticated rehabilitation centres in the Middle East.
Built over an area of 23,000 meters squared, the NBRC offers conmprehensive medical and rehabilitation services through its different units ranging from diagnosis and treatment to physical therapy, psychosocial, educational, vocational and recreational rehabilitation.
