himaya is a local NGO founded in 2009 with the established notification number 748 and the mission to promote a global protection of innocence in danger.

Two main programs are at the core of himaya’s work:

The Training Program intervening in schools all over Lebanon to raise awareness about child abuse among the youth offering them self-protection and life skills and reminding them of their rights as children
The Resilience Program works directly with the abuse victims and offers support and guidance to their families
Multidisciplinary teams provide via these 3 complementary programs, awareness, prevention as well as rehabilitation and social reintegration to children victim of all types of abuse; whether its neglect, sexual, physical or psychological abuse.

himaya’s resilience center shelters teenagers who have suffered from abuse and who are 12 to 18 years old.

With the help and support of our partners, himaya is now present on most of the Lebanese territory through its offices in Beirut/Mount Lebanon, Zahle, Halba and Damour.

In order to ensure the achievement of its mission, himaya works not only with the child but with his family and environment as a whole.

The organization strives for change on a national level in order to ensure a long lasting impact on the lives of children in Lebanon.
