The organization Freedom Drugs and HIV/AIDS Programme deals with addiction and HIV/AIDS integrally and holistically by offering client-based care emphasizing on individual value and dignity.

Freedom Drugs and HIV/AIDS Programme was founded in 1989 by Dr. Ehab El Kharrat. This organization conducts outreach programmes for the prevention of HIV/AIDS amongst intravenous drug users, touching tens of thousands of young people through a network of 47 NGOs.

Since 2004, this organization has been conducting a programme for the prevention of drug abuse and unsafe sex.
Dr. El Kharrat's programme for intravenous drug users provides a model that could be replicated in many other countries. His training programme has produced best practices and lessons learned for further use in regional efforts.

Freedom Program functions through groups depending on the power of change towards a complete and renewable transformation. This applies on the treatment, prevention, raising-awareness and leadership management aspects.

Organization achievements includes:
1) HIV/AIDS prevention among intravenous drug users - more than 1000 addicts achieve stable abstinence each year;
2) Over 800-1200 street addicts are reached each year;
3) Addiction behaviour international and national trainees receive 240 hours of classroom training each year;
4) Over 10 000-100 000 addicts and HIV/AIDS vulnerable groups benefit from activities each year.
