Established in 1962 under the name of Association of Young Filmmakers Tunisians (AJCT) at the time when Tunisia has not directed his first feature film, she played the role of training center for generations of filmmakers . Currently the federation unique cinema organization in its structure, has more than 200 members working in 16 clubs spread across the whole country. It ensures their training, coaching and provides them with the means to realize their films. The work federation in collaboration with similar associations for building a national democratic culture through the dissemination of cinematic techniques and storing audiovisual heritage, and support for liberation movements by organizing and supporting events dissemination of film footage during festivals. The FTCA product, for fifty years, twenty films a year and keeps in precarious conditions over 500 films (16mm, Super 8 and video) some of which were signed by young directors who are today among filmmakers the most famous Tunisian.
