Details

Global Communities (formerly CHF International) is an international non-profit organization that works closely with communities worldwide to bring about sustainable changes that improve the lives and livelihoods of the most vulnerable. Development is not something we do for people; it is something we do with them. We believe that the people who understand their needs best are the people of the community itself. We make a difference by engaging with communities, governments, and the private sector and NGOs as partners for good – bringing together complementary strengths and shared responsibilities to work toward common goals.

Since 1994, Global Communities has developed deep rooted connections with Palestinian communities and a vast pool of institutional knowledge, which has allowed Global Communities to anticipate and plan for political, security and economic changes, thereby remaining continually responsive and effective in meeting the needs of the Palestinian people, the government, and international donors.

Global Communities’ program portfolio over the past 20 years in the West Bank & Gaza has focused on governance & urban management, infrastructure, economic development, empowerment of women and youth, and humanitarian assistance. Through all these initiatives, Global Communities has partnered with countless Palestinian communities and municipalities to ensure community participation in all program phases, including design, implementation, and evaluation. In addition, Global Communities focuses on introducing innovative approaches, such as green building and e-municipality that are both appropriate for the local context and able to address systemic challenges.
