The CFDA main objective is the establishment at national level of a process of establishing the truth in each case on the fate of the disappeared and all victims of the conflict in Algeria 90 years, access to full reparation for victims and preventing the repetition of the crime of enforced disappearance.

For that the CFDA has assigned several missions that are:

The struggle against enforced disappearances and arbitrary detentions
The fight against impunity for crimes and serious violations of human rights
Preserving the memory of the victims
Encourage reflection and action at the national and international level for the defense and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Algeria with a view to opening a dialogue with national authorities
The strengthening of an active and effective network of solidarity within Algerian society working for the establishment of the Truth, the fight against impunity, the end of the state of emergency and protection of freedom of expression , assembly and association
The CFDA is campaigning in favor of ratification for the International Convention for the protection of all persons against enforced disappearances and for the establishment of a process of establishing the truth in each case in Algeria
