The Center of Mar Semaan Association is a NGO created in 1981 under the leadership of Bishop Habib Bacha, Greek-melkite Archbishop of Beirut and state-approved in 1983. It aims at taking care of Lebanese orphaned children or children coming from deprived households.

The entire 60 General Assembly members are all unpaid volunteers.
Within the great Mar Semaan family, children are taken care of by :

a social worker
