Caritas Lebanon Migrant Center

The Caritas Lebanon Migrant Center is an autonomous, specialized center of Caritas Lebanon. Combining both individualized legal and social support as well as advocacy efforts with the public and relevant government agencies, CLMC carries out different activities in support of respect for the human rights of migrants. It also conducts training and offers technical support to other NGOs in the Middle East serving similar groups of persons.

In support of migrants, the Center has the following objectives and responsibilities:

Direct Services: the Center provides social, medical, and legal assistance to those in need from a multidisciplinary team to migrants inside and outside prisons.
Awareness-Raising: the Center conducts activities aimed at raising awareness on human and migrants’ rights among the Lebanese population and migrant communities.
Studies and Research: the Center has commissioned several studies related to migrants’ situation in the country.
Advocacy and Policy Work, mainly through its role in the National Steering Committee for Migrant Workers and the National Steering Committee against Trafficking.
