Research Institute on Contemporary Maghreb established in Tunis in 1992, IRMC is a human and social science research center with a regional focus under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MAEE, Paris) and, since 2000, the Ministry of Higher Education and research and the National Centre for scientific research (CNRS) of which it is a joint unit (USR 3077).The Institute aims to contribute, in partnership with the Tunisian scientific community, Maghreb, French and inte rnational, development of research in the humanities and social sciences in the Maghreb: Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Mauritania. Scientific research in the humanities and social sciences is its mission.
