The National Union of Tunisian Journalists was founded on January 13 , 2008 . However , the work of Tunisian Journalists associative back to the sixties , where they founded in 1962 , their first structure is the Tunisian League for the press , which turned in 1969 to the Association of Tunisian Journalists.

National Union of Tunisian Journalists are trade union organization independent professional democracy struggling for material and moral rights of journalists and for freedom of opinion and expression and win the right of peoples to self – determination and make the Palestinian issue a core issue and advocate for all liberation movements opposed to colonialism and Zionism.
All involved committed in the National Union of Tunisian Journalists the laws of the country and the values of the republic, freedom, justice, democracy, gender equality and non – discrimination and advocating for just causes.

Walking the union executive office team for three years and consists of nine members, led by chairman, as the union expanded executive office composed of members of the Executive Office and the heads of branches and heads of the continent committees and members of the House of Representatives.
