The Sudanese Red Crescent Society was established in 1923 as a branch of the British Red Cross Society.

After independence in March 1956, it was officially recognized as an independent national assembly after Cabinet Decree No. 869.

It joined the International Red Crescent and Red Cross Movement in 1957.

It has a volunteer base of 3,380,000 volunteers and volunteers, who regularly participate in various aspects of activities in their local communities, through the association’s branches spread across the states of Sudan.
