The Social Relief and Welfare Association in Saida or “Al Mouwasat” or “Al Moasat” aims at serving the people of Saida and the neighborhood through all the available means, from vocational education / vocational training, health and services, especially in the field of job opportunities and education for girls, especially orphans and people with special needs, in cooperation and coordination with various associations and institutions in Lebanon and abroad.

The Mouwasat Association is a charitable, cultural, social, health, educational, productive and training organization that is concerned with serving the local community. Currently has 125 employees, most of whom are women heads of household.
The programs and methodology of the work are planned and developed by the General Manager, Chairman and Board members who are elected by the 80 members of the Association – highly educated, including doctors, engineers, administrators and community women.

With a history dating back to the 1960s, a free clinic was established in the old Sidon area, which aims to serve the popular groups close to the center, especially since at that time the number of doctors was very little in the city … The clinic was then an important event.
In addition, a social services center was established in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs in the Sitt Nafisa area, which was considered a qualitative leap in the activities of this association which expanded to include health, services and training (sewing, hairdressing, typewriting …).
In the beginning of the eighties, the association expanded its activities and developed a diabetes treatment center in collaboration with the Lebanese Diabetes Association. It continued to provide services in this area until 1992, when the building of the association, which currently includes various departments, was established.
