The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate is a non-governmental professional organization with a pluralistic character and an independent legal personality. It represents the comprehensive and comprehensive trade union framework for all Palestinian journalists inside and outside Palestine. Its main center is Jerusalem City; it has other branches in the Palestinian governates.
The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate was founded in 1979 under the name of the Arab Journalists League in Jerusalem. The Israeli occupation at the time prohibited any designation referring to Palestine. The Syndicate has functioned since the return of the Palestinian National Authorityin 1994. Palestinian journalists at home and abroad are represented in the General Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists as the trade union framework.
The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate (PJS) exercises its activities and policies in accordance with the decisions of its general conferences; it adheres to the general national goals and policies of the Palestinian people; and the policies of the Palestine Liberation Organization as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people in their pursuit of the Palestinian people's goals of freedom, independence and return.
The union shall define its own trade and professional policies and directions and shall have the full legal and moral right to manage its administrative and financial affairs and maintain its activities and functions within the framework of democratic pluralism to achieve its objectives stipulated in the law and internal regulations governing its work. Protect public and private freedoms and protect them in accordance with local and international laws and regulations; and ensure public access to and access to information; The appropriate professional and operational conditions that preserve their dignity and their legal status in front of all bodies; and provide the necessary services to upgrade the press body and develop its performance in terms of training and professionalism, in line with the developments that accompany the revolution of communications and information technology.

VISION
All Palestinian journalists enjoy rights, freedoms and professional development to enhance their social and economic status as a fourth authority that promotes democratic approach, public awareness, freedoms, respect for others and independence. We believe that all the Palestinian media in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and in the regions of the 48 and the Diaspora are practicing the professions of the press and the media in a highly professional manner compared with the media working in other countries. We also believe that the Palestinian media contribute significantly to the dissemination of Palestinian national values, Against the occupation and its measures and the struggle to reach a democratic Palestinian society.
Our Syndicate promotes economic and service capabilities that provide the best means of living for all media professionals. It also strengthens all national and international initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the Palestinian people through policies promoting justice and equality for all without regard to category, geography or gender.

MISSION
The Union seeks to create an enabling environment for Palestinian journalists within the framework of the Declaration of Independence and the Charter of Honor for Media Workers: "We will work to deal with all factors affecting the performance of Palestinian journalists directly (through interventions), in partnership with local and international stakeholders, The attention of decision makers and public opinion towards those factors that limit the achievement of the best performance for all journalists in all sectors.
The Declaration of Independence and the international, Arab and local codes of conduct will form the basis for our direct interventions and partnerships with other parties as well as our demands for change in policies affecting the overall performance of the Palestinian journalist.
