The Middle East Institute for Research and Strategic Studies is a newly established non-profit organization and research center that aims at promoting:

constitutional, political and cultural protection of human rights as a fundamental component of democracy, with special emphasis on individual freedoms (of expression and belief), minority rights, and the rights of women;
peaceful resolution of political and social differences through rational and open public debate;
and properly documenting the notion that patriarchy, feudalism and tribalism are structural risks to democracy, and that democratic development necessitates an ineluctable level of social and cultural emancipation and reform;
the incremental protection of socio-economic rights as an essential component of democracy.
