Médecins du Monde – Greece (MDM – Greece), founded in 1990 and constitute a medical humanitarian NGO, member of the International Network of Doctors of the World, which consists of 15 delegations (Argentina, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, USA, UK, Japan, Spain, Canada, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden).
The driving principle of the organization is that every human being has the right to humanitarian assistance, regardless of gender, origin, sexual orientation, religion, ideology or political conviction. Consequently, MDM act according to the principles of neutrality and impartiality. The fact that they maintain their neutrality does not prevent them from speaking openly about the violation of human rights when they themselves become eyewitnesses. Wherever possible, MDM highlights the risks of such abuses, either through silent diplomacy, or with the help of the media.
Since the beginning of the action, Médecins du Monde Greece have created numerous programs both within the country and abroad in order to provide medical and other services to marginalized populations without access to health services and needed medical care.
