Mandela Foundation
Is a human rights non-governmental organization non-profit organization founded in 1989 by a group of lawyers, doctors, clergy and its city of Jerusalem, and because of the blockade and restrictions that have been imposed on the movement of Palestinian civilians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip could not be arriving to the city of Jerusalem, the Board of Trustees of the Foundation decided to move its offices to Ramallah headquarters temporarily to enable the families of the prisoners have access to.
The organization has been active in the field of human rights of Palestinians, Arabs, and the detainees and follow up their cases all the merits and listen to their problems and demands within families and suffer from harsh practices by the Prison Service management, because of the activities and attitudes of the national institution, it had a lot of pressure from the occupation authorities, both disability crews of traffic or prevent sometimes some of them even arrived limit to destroy the institution's headquarters during the second intifada (uprising Aqsa), but the institution volunteer crew often continued in its bid and provide services to prisoners.

To Mandela Foundation to ensure adequate protection of the rights of detainees and not to subject any of them to torture or inhumane treatment, or take sanctions against them, consistently since the beginning of its work to take responsibility by monitoring the conditions of the Palestinian and Arab prisoners in Israeli jails from the legal, humanitarian and living conditions and health standpoint prisoner for the following tactics : -
1. communicate with prisoners in all prisons and detention centers through extensive visits to the legal staff on the institution.
2. monitoring and documenting all violations and cases of torture practiced against prisoners, including the cases of martyrdom.

7. organization adopts some of the cases against them for violation of human rights and the lifting of proceedings by the judicial authorities, and demand the formation of committees of inquiry in every case.
8. The Foundation enters medical specialists to prison after getting a preview and handle critical cases permissions.
9. Mandela Foundation organizes training courses in the field of human rights of members of the law enforcement officials since the beginning of 1994.
10 Follow-up Affairs arrested and detained in the prisons of the Palestinian National Authority by visiting Mandela's lawyers and raise their demands and grievances to the concerned authorities, the resort to the courts if necessary, especially in cases of torture when found Any violation of human rights.

The 11-Mandela Foundation to establish and embrace Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture in 1998, which works on the psychological rehabilitation of victims of torture after their release.
