Mission

We are committed to providing the Arab world with professional executives in the fields of licensing and technology transfer, as well as promoting economic growth by encouraging, facilitating and enforcing Intellectual Property licensing and research and development (R&D) investment.

Objectives

To function as a non-profit professional and educational society, encouraging high professional levels and ethics among persons engaged in the domestic and international licensing, transfer of technology and intellectual property rights.
To assist the individual members in improving and developing their skills and techniques in licensing through self - education, conduct of special studies and research, sponsorship of training courses, publication of related articles and reports, and exchange of ideas related to licensing, transfer of technology and intellectual property rights.
To inform the business community, governmental bodies and the public, through proper media, about the economic importance of licensing, transfer of technology and intellectual property rights.
To sponsor and conduct research related to licensing, technology transfer and intellectual property rights at the international and regional levels.
To settle all disputes arising between the Society's members and others through arbitration.
To assist the members in carrying out activities which are consistent with the Society's objectives, and coordinate their activities with those of the other bodies which have similar objectives.

The Licensing Executives Society-Arab Countries (LES-AC) was first established in 1997 under the name "Arab Licensing and Technology Transfer Society (ALTTS)", as an Arab professional body addressing licensing and technology transfer issues. The Society aimed at providing technical assistance to specialists and interested parties in the Arab countries.

Since its establishment, the Society had worked hard to join the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) in order to acquire international recognition via its membership in a specialized international entity. These efforts were successful and the Society joined LESI in 1998 during its Annual Meeting held in Miami, USA. Thus, the new name of the Society became the Licensing Executives Society – Arab Countries (LES-AC).

Being a member of LESI facilitated the Society's objectives, benefiting from existing international efforts in this field and acquiring other expertise, as well as learning from the technical results of other national societies that are LESI members.

LESI, considered to be the "mother" organization, is a non-profit entity that promotes international cooperation in the field of licensing and technology transfer. This international Society comprises thirty two national and regional societies, including LES-AC.

LES-AC represents the countries of the Arab League. Membership is open to all individuals who are specialized or interested in licensing, technology transfer and research and development (R&D) in the Arab world.
