The IPADE Foundation is an environmental NGO, working, since 1987,
in developing co-operation projects in Latin America, Africa and Asia
supporting vulnerable populations living in impoverished rural areas so
that their development can be economically viable, socially just and
environmentally sustainable.

To this day we have implemented more than 130 projects in 26
countries, keeping close links with a large number of local social
organisations. We are currently promoting development processes
in Morocco, Mauritania, Tunisia, Algeria, Senegal, Bolivia, Peru,
Guatemala, Ecuador, Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
In Spain, we promote awareness and education for development
projects and campaigns, focusing on the causes and effects of
poverty. We encourage the will for structural change focusing on fair and
sustainable lifestyles.

Sustainable production:
Supporting agriculture, forest management, livestock,
fishing, and aquaculture production systems founded in the basis and values of a
sustainable development. Achieving improvement in efficiency and productivity of
resources not damaging the environment.

Sustainable tourism:
Using fewer resources through the provision of integrated
tourist packages that promote the conservation of areas with high ecological value, and
preventing or reducing mass and concentrated tourism.
Environmental planning and management:
Allowing compatibility with the
conservation of protected areas, and/or areas with a high environmental value,
promoting a sustainable use of resources in favour of the local population, as well
as monitoring land and urban planning processes in Southern countries.

Sustainable energy :
Increasing people’s access to sustainable energy and promoting the use of renewable energies such as wind power, solar thermal power, solar photo voltaic power, biomass energy or mini-hydroelectric power.
We support the access rights of impoverished countries to clean development
mechanisms.

Environmental sanitation:
Encouraging the use of preventive practices, the implementation of clean production systems in order to minimize waste emissions,at the source, and prevent pollution.

Reduction of environmental vulnerability :
Through soil conservation and fight against forest fires, including actions to prevent erosion and in aim of environmental education.

Sustainable water management:
Through the implementation of actions intended to maintain and improve water quality, protecting resources and economizing their use,as well as promoting the improvement of management production systems, water supply and distribution of drinking water, and the development of sanitation networks.

Strengthening skills of people in vulnerable situations:
Independently of their race, gender, religion, and political convictions fostering their ability to identify and fight for their rights and interests and to participate in decision-making and power structures. We promote the access, use, control and distribution of natural resources, taking into account sustainability and equity for the communities we work with.
