Hiwar is an non governmental organization that works on women's and youth empowerment so that they are able to actively contribute to the decision making and sustainable development through dialogue. Hiwar seeks to empower women and youth so they part take in decision making . Hiwar seeks to open channels of dialogue between Palestinian Youth locally and internationally.

The Hiwar Center empowers women so they can begin to meet the basic needs of their families. Hiwar aims to increase the earning potential of marginalised women by providing an outlet for them to exhibit and sell traditional handmade Palestine fashions to the wider world.

Palestinian women face challenges to their civil liberties on a daily basis whilst living under Israeli occupation. The Hiwar project encourages entrepreneurship among women in rural areas of Palestine. The first step in the project is to establish an exhibition where the hand crafted fashions can be marketed to distributors both within Palestine and internationally, though capital needs to be raised before increased production can begin.

The clothing and jewellery are a contemporary take on traditional Palestinian fashions, which has seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years as a reaction against the occupation.
