The Fred Hollows Foundation is an international development organization working to eliminate avoidable blindness. The Foundation works in more than 25 countries around the world, restoring sight to people in some of the most marginalised communities.

The Foundation has restored sight to 2.5 million people.

We are driven by Fred’s vision to eliminate avoidable blindness, for all to have access to quality health services and to stand up for what is right. We believe that collaboration, getting things done with integrity, and empowering local communities is the best way to make a difference.

The Foundation is overseen by our Board of Directors, which includes Gabi Hollows. CEO Ian Wishart leads day-to-day operations, and we’re still advised by Fred’s great mate and fellow humanitarian, Dr Sanduk Ruit. We are independent, not-for-profit, politically unaligned and secular.

The Fred Hollows Foundation - Dubai became a registered member of the International Humanitarian City in 2017. We are proud to be working with the UAE community to end avoidable blindness around the globe.
