The Entrepreneurial Development Foundation is a not-for-profit organization Founded in 1999 that promotes entrepreneurship among the less privileged in Lebanon’s rural areas and impoverished neighborhoods of big cities.
EDF is generally affiliated with the needs of entrepreneurs at the level of building capacity, mentorship, and facilitating financing in order to help them progress with their small businesses, regardless of their gender and age.
EDF aims to assist in the country’s overall socio-economic well-being by providing sustainability to small businesses to boost local economies by accelerating the business cycles, improving synergy among NGOs and stakeholders for a higher impact and creating jobs for better social stability as well as raising awareness to support initiatives through financial inclusion.
In 2018, EDF modified its initial mission from providing loans to providing Entrepreneurial Training followed by financial support and mentorship for graduates with promising business plans and those with tried and tested small businesses looking to expand their scope.
