Details

DLR believes in the absolute value of Human beings. It works to enlighten the dignity of being different. DLR’s mission is to humanize “the other” through (1) Learning skills that will enable one to understand the other; (2) Understanding differences and embracing diversity within one’s own faith group and the other; and (3) Breaking stereotypes by fostering dialogue and promoting understanding. DLR is an independent and neutral Organization, which policy of action and values reflect its impartiality.

DLR aims at creating an environment to foster dialogue and cooperation between the different faiths in the Middle East, in order for youth to overcome their prejudice and break stereotypes. As such, the Lebanese youth in all its factions will be encouraged to be more active in the civic life. While youth civic engagement is being promoted, so is the empowerment of women in the social and political life by creating a simulation of the society and situations requiring intervention for reconciliation. Given the nature of Lebanon’s social life entangled in its political life and history, the DLR aims at approaching the issue of civic engagement, the participation of minorities in the national system from its roots to reach long-term grass-rooted results. Breaking the religious barriers, allows a fully civic engagement of youth, allowing all cultural groups to be part of the social fabric, hence everyone would feel concerned in the problems facing the society and thus become willing to take action when needed.

DLR serves as a catalyst, aiming to construct bridges and embraces the diversity through the perfect combination of theory and practice designed to target the younger generation.
