Details

The Institution of Dalal Culture and Arts aims at contributing to the preservation of Culture , and Folkloric Heritage and promoting different aspects of Palestinian culture and arts.

History

In 1986, students and graduates from universities in Bethlehem established “Dalal Group for popular Arts” that aimed to develop and contribute to the enhancement and dissemination of culture and art within the Palestinian society. In 1996, the group reorganized itself and through voluntary initiatives was able to conduct numerous activities and performances that have proven to be a great success, and participated in folkloric performances at different local and international festivals.

In 2000, the group members realized that limiting themselves to a dance group would not achieve their goals and aspirations, and accordingly formed and registered “Dalal Institution for Culture and Arts” that broadened their activities in the fields of culture and arts. Since its registration in that year, Dalal was able to attract more Palestinian youth eager to participate in a variety of activities which strengthen their sense of belonging, and enable them to enjoy their right to a cultural life, which they are mostly deprived of.

Dalal is registered with Ministry of Interior under number BL-329-CU, and works with licensing from the Ministry of Culture, number 200/B/100/2007.
