COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale is secular and independent Italian humanitarian organization that fights against all forms of poverty to improve the world.
In 50 years of work we have realized 1,600 projects in 63 countries , involving 4,500 workers expatriates and 55,000 local operators and ensuring a direct benefit to 100 million people .
Today COOPI is present in 24 countries with 177 humanitarian projects .
Our major institutional lenders are the European Union, UN agencies, the Italian Government, local authorities and other European governments. We are supported by private donors, from companies, foundations and volunteers.
COOPI is a Foundation officially recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a NGO (Non-governmental Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) – pursuant to Law 02.26.1987 n. 49, and is also a non-profit organization (Organization profit social utility No) – pursuant to Legislative Decree. 04/12/1997 n. 460. E ‘also entered in the register of legal persons of the Prefecture of Milan.
