The University National Center of Scientific and Technical Documentation was established by Act No. 78-59 of 29/12/1978 finance law for the 1979 management and in particular Article 33, in the form of public administrative establishment under the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research Missions: integrated Centre of scientific and technical information, the CNUDST's essential mission is to:

• provide information and scientific and technical documentation including researchers, whatever their field of activity.
• Collect, process and disseminate the production and the results of scientific research and technological development undertaken in Tunisia or on Tunisia.
• Allow user-friendly access to a collection of documents covering a significant part of the science and technology research globally.
• Hosting the virtual library research.
• Practicing documentary watch.

To do this, the applications in the form of bases and databases have been developed in order to:
• Enhance research results and contribute to the promotion of Tunisian scientific production by ensuring its visibility on the web.
• Ensure permanent documentary watch on the information resources available on the web for free or at preferential rates (programs for developing countries).
• Make available to researchers the world scientific literature necessary for their activity, by the conclusion of licenses for access to journals and full-text databases and data banks.
