The Centre d'Etudes Maghrébines à Tunis (CEMAT) is a private, non-profit center created in 1985 to facilitate scholarly research on North Africa in all disciplines and to encourage the exchange of scholars and scholarly information between Tunisia and the USA.

Sa mission consiste à faciliter les recherches scientifiques portant sur l’Afrique du Nord, toutes disciplines confondues, et à encourager les échanges d’informations en termes de recherche.
