OUR HISTORY

ATFD was founded by the autonomous women's movement, which since the 1970s had, through different structures, different forms of expression:
1978 Club of study of the status of women "Tahar Haddad".
1982 Study of the status of working women in UGTT.
1983 Review "Nissa"
1984 Women Commission of the LTDH.
1988 Birth of AFTURD
1989 Birth of ATFD

To revive the celebration of March 8 International Women's Day, we no longer celebrated since the 1940s.

ATFD was established on 6 August 1989 legal visa No. T-3690 (JORT No. 72 of 15 September 1989)
ATFD obtained in 2004 the Observer Status to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.

OUR VISION
We campaign against patriarchy, against all forms of gender discrimination, and against all forms of violence against women. We are also pushing to develop and disseminate a feminist discourse, secular, and progressive for a Tunisia that respects the dignity, freedom, democracy, equality and social justice.

OUR MISSION

We campaign to disseminate the culture of gender equality in all social, economic, political, cultural, and legal. We are also pushing for women's rights, to support, to show solidarity with women victims of violence and discrimination; and we advocate for strengthening the capacity of women and youth so that they assume this mission.
