Association pour la Protection de l Enfant de la Guerre

Since 1996, the medio-psychological centers of the Association for the Protection of War Children exists, following the bombing of Cana to help the most disadvantaged.
They are located in Beirut, Tyre, Nabatieh, Marjeyoun, Tripoli and Baalbeck. A multidisciplinary team works in the different centers. It is composed of psychiatrists, psychologists and a secretary. These centers work in relation to existing medical and educational structures. Although APEG was originally created to help children, today it welcomes people from all age groups and all pathologies.
People who consult belong to the underprivileged social class.
The consultations are free.

Objectives

  1. Care for child victims of the war and their families
  2. The treatment of patients (children and adults) with all kinds of pathologies by outpatient consultations, with psychotherapeutic support, and / or drug support.
  3. The training of educational and school staff (teachers, school doctors, nurses …) in the detection of mental disorders in schools in South Lebanon
  4. The care of child victims of abuse in all regions of Lebanon
  5. The implementation of instruments adapted to the Lebanese population (maintenance grids …) for the expertise of child victims of sexual abuse.
  6. The organization of international symposiums to promote scientific exchanges between professionals
