Established in 1983, ASI is a French non-governmental organization of general interest, apolitical and non-denominational. ASI aims to be a human-sized organization, favoring partnerships with the civil societies of the South. It carries out actions directly in the field closer to the people and responds to the needs expressed and identified.
UPS operates in the Republic of Congo since 2006, as part of a program "Support for young girls at Street and vulnerability "in Brazzaville. This is mainly young girls in prostitution, including risks associated with their activities cause them to be among the most vulnerable. The primary objective of ASI in Congo is to contribute to improving the socioeconomic status of girls in vulnerable situations in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire. In 2011, a feasibility study was conducted at different sites and districts of the city of Pointe-Noire to collect the data needed to determine the future intervention of the NGO ASI in Pointe-Noire. Thus, the project "Support of girls in street situation and vulnerability" began to Pointe Noire early 2012.
