ATFP was established in 1989 with an authorized and paid up capital of US$ 1 billion and a shareholding structure comprised of Arab governmental, public and private financial and banking institutions.

The mission of ATFP is to contribute to the development and promotion of trade of the Arab Countries and the enhancement of the competitiveness of Arab exporters. To carry out its mandate, ATFP provides financing to eligible trade transactions between Arab Countries through its appointed National Agencies from among the banks and financial institutions in the Arab countries.
