The American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (AmCham-Jordan), a member of the United States Chamber of Commerce, is a voluntary not-for-profit member-based organization that contributes to economic development through the promotion of US-Jordan-regional trade and investment, business development, public policy advocacy, human resources development and business community outreach. Established in 1999, current membership stands at over 190 top U.S. and Jordanian companies.
AmCham-Jordan strives to enhance bilateral trade between Jordan and the United States. AmCham creates an environment for business matchmaking attracting national and international local investment related to Jordan-US relationships. Because of AmCham's ongoing public policy advocacy with the Jordan and US governments the Jordan-US Free Trade Agreement was fully implemented in 2010, resulting in the reduction of obstacles to Jordan-US trade.
Members also benefit from networking and exposure opportunities fostered by AmCham, which strengthen the capacity of the business community and open the door for strategic alliances and partnerships between members. Furthermore, AmCham-Jordan's Training and Career Development Center specializes in professional services and houses the ILO-accredited Expand Your Business (EYB) and Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) projects.
