Culture Resource (al Mawred al Thaqafy) was founded in 2004 as a non-governmental, non-profit Arab cultural organization that seeks to support artistic creativity in the Arab region and to encourage cultural exchange between intellectuals and artists within this region and abroad. The work of Culture Resource emanates from a deep appreciation of the renewable value of Arab cultural heritage, in all its ethnic, religious and linguistic diversity, and from a faith in the importance of generating a new Arab spirit of creativity as a key to liberating the imagination and stimulating progress. Culture Resource also believes that artistic and literary activities are a social necessity which demands the moral and material support on the part of all effective forces in society. Culture Resource is based in Lebanon and operates regionally throughout the Arab World.

Culture Resource programs include:

1) Individual artistic production grants "Production Awards" - cinema, theater, visual arts, literature, music. In addition to individual travel grants.

2) Support managers of cultural organizations through Arab-European program Tandem-Shaml, and through our "Imkan" program

3) Organizational support to strengthen the institutional and technical capacities of local cultural organizations through "Abbara"

4) Cultural policies - cooperation throughout the Arab World on enhancing and demanding the implementation of cultural policies

5) Publications in Arabic on cultural management

6) Bringing culture and arts close to the general public through a number of regular festivals
