Africa’ 70 in Mauritania

Africa ’70 is an NGO – NPO which for nearly 40 years to improve the living conditions of the populations in the South of the world.
It was established in 1971 as a civil and cultural movement of support for the liberation struggles in the colonized African countries. Thus begins an awareness campaign and efforts against the huge inequalities between North and South. After the positive outcome of the first projects in Burundi and Cape Verde, in the ’80s were initiated various interventions in Somalia and Mozambique, which have gradually allowed the movement to structure and improve.

Africa ’70 is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a non-governmental organization engaged in the field of social solidarity and international cooperation for development.

Africa ’70 is in Africa, Central America and the Middle East where alongside local institutions and associations in activities related mainly to habitat protection, in terms of urban regeneration, environmental planning, education and food security. Italy promotes awareness events to citizenship, held workshops on development education in schools and implements training activities the universities with which it has always been a special relationship. Africa ’70 considers its commitment to international cooperation as an opportunity to meet and exchange based on respect and appreciation of cultural diversity.he believes in participation as a condition for building peace and guarantee equitable development of the peoples: involving local authorities and civil society Africa ’70 builds strong relationships between all stakeholders, public and private, of profit and non-profit. Africa ’70 is a member of the Association of Italian NGOs, CoLomba (Cooperation Lombardy) and the COCIS.
