Combating Violence against Women in the Southern Mediterranean Region
The Regional Campaign on Zero Tolerance for Violence Against Women and Girls was in 2019 in Amman, Jordan and funded by the EU.

The Regional Campaign:
• Engages the society to stand up against violence against women and girls and shift the blame from the victim to the perpetrator.
• Demands the adoption of comprehensive legislation that criminalizes all forms of violence against women and girls.
• Advocates for zero tolerance for Violence against women and girls

Campaign actions include but not limited to:
– Awareness campaign uncovering the structure of VAWG (films, billboards, posters, radio spots, social media, forums)
– Advocacy for the adoption of comprehensive laws and policies that criminalize VAWG
– Educational activities in schools for teachers and students
– Training service providers to provide adequate services to victims.
– Providing an online directory on existing services for victims of VAWG.
– Inform victims of their rights and existing services.
– Regional Civil Society Observatory on VAWG to follow up on the implementation of the 4th UfM Ministerial Declaration on Women’s Rights (Cairo, 2017) in the field of Violence against Women and Girls, Women, Peace and Security Agenda and PVE.
